Disneyland Forever!

155On July 17, 1955 the doors opened to Disneyland. Main Street U.S.A. was a sticky mess and women were losing their heels as they tried to get to the castle. The water fountains were not all working while visitors roasted in record temperatures, and rides broke down as soon as they opened. Yet, through all of this turmoil on this first day, people continued to flock back the next day and for years to come. This year Disneyland celebrates it’s 60th or diamond anniversary. For this special anniversary, Disneyland is sticking with Walt’s vision of the park: “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

The Imagineers have created a brand new fireworks display that goes far beyond just fireworks. In the new attraction entitled “Disneyland Forever”, guests will be awe struck as they are transported to London with Peter Pan, the African grass planes of Simba’s Pride Lands, and beyond. The new attraction will not only focus on Main Street U.S.A and Sleeping Beauty’s castle, but also the Matterhorn Mountain and Small World. The visual arts be spectacular, along with the choreographed music which includes two brand new songs written by Disney legend Richard M. Sherman. This is sure to be a truly sparkling event!
